OUR BYLAWS

The Society for Research in Human Development (SRHD) is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting research on human development and encouraging collaboration among scholars. The Society also supports the application of research to improve lives across the lifespan.

Membership is open to professionals, new professionals (within five years of completing their degree), and students pursuing graduate or undergraduate degrees in human development or related fields.

All members share equal voting rights, and voting must be done individually.

SRHD is led by an elected Board of Directors, which includes the President, Past-President, President-Elect, Secretary, Communications Officer, Treasurer, two Members-at-Large, and a Student Representative. Officers serve staggered terms to ensure continuity, with the President moving through a structured cycle from President-Elect to President to Past-President.

Elections are held biennially through a digital ballot, with nominations open to all members. The Board of Directors manages the Society’s operations, organizes meetings, and appoints committees to support conferences, nominations, and other initiatives.
